My day in nature

This time we chose to escape from the city to the mountain of Kosmaj. Although it is only 626m above sea level, Kosmaj is one of the Belgrade’s favourite places for relaxing, primarily because of its lush vegetation and countless hectares of forest. If you decide, like I did, to ride a bicycle be sure to ask for advice about the road and schortcuts.Do not forget helmet, gloves an jacket because when you return in hurry it will be very cold on the downhill, especially if it’s windy. I higly recommend this cycling. Mud will be waiting for you on many places and you will be stuck a little bit, but you will. surely remmember it for days. By car you will need about an hour because this place is only about 40km from Belgrade. You can get information about bus lines at the main station in Belgrade. The reason for choosing this place beside the wonderful nature and numerous contents for both the family and adrenaline route lovers, is the large number of cultural and historical monuments that are not well known and insufficiently explored. The village Koraćica is the most beautiful place under the mountain. One of our greatest actors, Bata Živojinović, was born in this village where he spent his last days, enjoying the beauties of nature and the hospitality of local people. We are still working on a tourist offer in this segment, but if you come specifically from China we assure you that we will make a special route for you. If you aren’t already packing your bags and heading for Belrade, maybe this quote of our Nobel prize-winning author Ivo Andrić will make up your mind:

When we spend a beautiful sunny day in nature, alone or in company, we take in horizons, wind, distances, a spell of sun and thoughts brought by the end of the day. At the dusk, enriched and heavy like a bee full of flower juice and pollen, we return to our city, feeling strong and free and above everything that connects us with familiar things, people or occasions, like calm victors, woundless, without bitterness and with perspectives to long-lasting peace ahead of us.
